CESH Interior Regulations 2018<\/a><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The object of the Interior Regulations is to specify the Statutes of the European Committee for Sports History (CESH).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 1. Members and Fellows\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n 1.1 Fellows\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n In accordance with article 4 of the Statutes, all Fellows and Honorary Fellows constitute the College of Fellows. The latter is autonomous and decides matters at its own discretion. It elects a President who may or may not participate in the Directing Council and who is in charge of bringing together the candidates for the positions of President Elect, General Secretary and Treasurer in order to put them forward at the General Assembly. In order to do so, he\/she consults the College of Fellows on the internet and, 60 days before the General Assembly, proposes candidates to the College of Fellows.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The term of office of the President of Fellows is two years. The President of Fellows may only be re-elected once. The President of the College of Fellows appoints a Secretary of his\/her choice. The College of Fellows puts forward new candidates for the Directing Council to the vote of the General Assembly. If the General Assembly does not accept the College of Fellows\u2019 candidates, the Fellows then \u2013 after a time-out \u2013 put forward new candidates at the same General Assembly. The College of Fellows elects its new Fellows and Honorary Fellows with less than 10 % of negative votes.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The President of the College of Fellows organises, in co-operation with the President of CESH, a meeting of Fellows before every General Assembly.<\/p>\n 1.2 Members\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n Exclusion<\/i><\/p>\n A member may be excluded on the extraordinary decision of the Directing Council and with the consent of the majority of its members present. Before such an action the member concerned must be given a chance of a written vindication.<\/p>\n Resignation \u2013 Death \u2013 Disappearance<\/i><\/p>\n The member resigning must notify the President and the other members of the Directing Council of his\/her decision by a simple letter. If a Fellow does not pay the membership fees, he\/she loses his\/her CESH membership and his\/her status as a Fellow for the time fees are not paid.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 2. Directing Council\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n According to Article 6 of the Statutes, members of the Directing Council have the following rights and duties.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 2.1. The President in Office of CESH\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n The Presidence in Office of CESH:<\/p>\n 2.2. The Past President and the President Elect\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n Participate in the smooth functioning and in the decision-making of the Directing Council.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 2.3 The President of the College of Fellows\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n Fulfills the function described in Article 7 of the Statutes.<\/p>\n Co-ordinates, in agreement with the CESH President and the President of the Scientific Committee of the annual CESH congress, the meeting which decides the Award winners.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 2.4 The Vice President\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n Is responsible for organising the next International CESH congress and subsequently work as editor to publish the congress proceedings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 2.5. The General Secretary and Treasurer <\/b> 3. Functioning of CESH\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n 3.1. General Assembly\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n The members are invited to the General Assembly by email at least 30 days before the scheduled date; this notice will also be posted on the website of CESH.<\/p>\n The voting modalities are proclaimed before each ballot.<\/p>\n At the request of one of the members, voting may be carried out by secret ballot.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n A Recorder for the session is designated at the beginning of the General Assembly. He\/she records the minutes of the General Assembly.<\/p>\n No votes by proxy are permitted. Decisions are made according to the majority of the members present.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 3.2. Extraordinary General Assembly\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n An Extraordinary General Assembly may meet in the event of an essential modification of the Statutes or as the occasion may require.<\/p>\n All members are invited by email at least 30 days before the scheduled date. No votes by proxy are permitted.<\/p>\n Decisions are made according to the majority of the members present.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 3.3 Annual Subscriptions\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n Members (including Fellows) must pay an annual fee to be a CESH member.<\/p>\n Its amount is to be determined annually by the General Assembly on a proposition of the Directing Council and of the Treasurer whose vote cannot be overruled.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Students and Unemployed are entitled to a discount.<\/p>\n The annual fee must be paid before the General Assembly in order to be able to vote.<\/p>\n All fees paid to CESH are non-refundable. No fee shall be refunded during the year in the event of resignation, exclusion or death of a member.<\/p>\n Speakers at CESH congresses must be CESH members.<\/p>\n Those who pay their fees during the year and according to the Statute conditions shall be deemed to be members and\/or Fellows.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 3.4. Expenses\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n Members of the Directing Council may have parts of their travel expenses for attending an International CESH Congress refunded according to the current official rates on the proposition of the Directing Council and of the Treasurer, whose vote cannot be overruled. A refund can only be granted if the applicant does not receive any financial aid from a secondary source.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 4. International Annual CESH Congresses\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n 4.1 The Scientific Committee of CESH Congresses\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n The CESH President in Office is a member of the Scientific Committee of every International CESH Congress. In collaboration with him\/her, the local organisers decide on the composition of the Scientific Committee. The head of the Organising Committee must pay his\/her membership at least during the years until the congress is held.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 4.2 The Choice of the CESH Congress Venue\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n The choice of a Congress Venue is decided during the General Assembly.<\/p>\n In the event of a change, after the General Assembly\u2019s decision (cancellation of the intended International Congress), the Directing Council shall have full discretion to decide on a new venue for the CESH Congress.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 4.3 Conditions of Candidature for CESH Congress Organizers\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n The candidature for International CESH Congresses is presented to the vote of the General Assembly, if possible already two years before its intended date.<\/p>\n It shall be presented by a member of CESH with the endorsement of a university.<\/p>\n One year before, the local organisers shall present the programme outline abiding by the schedule of International CESH Congresses.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The local organisers must provide:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 4.4 Standards of Publication\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n CESH has its own standards and Authors\u2019 Guidelines in various different European languages. The local organisers can only deviate from and change them if absolutely necessary, provided that they present slight alterations to the General Assembly along with their candidature.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 4.5 Official Languages of the International CESH Congresses and Publications\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n All European languages are allowed for communication: but participants are asked to answer questions either in French, in English, or in the language of the host after having read their papers. All European languages are accepted for publication of the Proceedings.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 5. Scientific Activities and Grants\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n 5.1. Awards\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n Candidates for Awards must forward their papers to the local organiser according to the modalities previously specified by CESH and the Scientific Committee.<\/p>\n Papers are sent to the local Scientific Committee by email thirty days before the International CESH Congress.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Two reviewers, as proposed by the Presidents of the College of Fellows and of the Scientific Committee, are designated for each article.<\/p>\n After having heard the reviewers, the members of the Scientific Committee shall vote on the best contribution for each Award.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 5.2 CESH journal \/ ESSH<\/i><\/b><\/p>\n A journal entitled European Studies for Sports History <\/i>(ESSH<\/i>) is published on a regular basis and is the official organ of CESH.<\/p>\n The General Assembly appoints an Editorial Board and a Scientific Committee the members of which are chosen from among the Fellows of CESH who are prepared to join in and further (sports) historians of an undisputed scholarly reputation.<\/p>\n The Directing Council shall appoint an editor according to his\/her proficiency and availability in the field of historical sports science.<\/p>\n CESH must ensure the promotion of this journal through all possible means.<\/p>\n All European languages are accepted. Authors\u2019 Guidelines in different European languages are listed on the CESH website.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n 6.
