FAUSTO COPPI E LA STORIA DEL CICLISMO ITALIANO

Il 15 settembre 1919 nasceva uno dei ciclisti più forti di tutti i tempi: il “campionissimo” Fausto Coppi. La definitiva esplosione della sua carriera coincise con alcuni dei momenti chiave della storia d’Italia: la ricostruzione del secondo dopoguerra e il boom economico. Il ciclismo e i suoi due maggiori rappresentanti, Fausto Coppi e Gino Bartali, senza dimenticare il terzo uomo Fiorenzo Magni, divennero l’emblema dell’Italia che voleva ricostruire: il pedalare nella fatica dei ciclisti ben si sovrapponeva con il lavoro che la popolazione italiana sostenne per recuperare in tempi brevi condizioni di vita normali, lontane dai disastri della Guerra. Fu anche grazie a campioni come Fausto Coppi che il ciclismo consolidò il suo primato di sport più seguito in Italia per tutti gli anni Cinquanta e Sessanta. La centralità del ciclismo nella vita sociale degli italiani fece sì che il coinvolgimento per la bicicletta non si limitasse ai soli sportivi ma comprendesse anche interessi politici, economici e culturali.

Call for applications for the Summer School in sport sciences (humanities and social sciences). After many Summer Schools in Copenhagen (organized by Gertrud Pfister), Summer School helds at Paris since 2016 with an international pedagogical team.
The meeting between a team of renowned scholars and PhD students from various countries will provide an excellent opportunity learn about state of the art theories and methods, to exchange information, e.g. on research projects, and build an international network.
